Hello, welcome back. I am back from Cuba and sort of got over my vacation blues, so I am back to creating again. And it’s a good thing I have the Happy Inkin’ blog hop ever Thursday, as that’s what got me back to creating. Anyway, with the color scheme this week, I am sure that our team is going to share a lot of Honey Bee cards. A few weeks ago I did a questionnaire to see what people loved most from the catalog and I did get someone tell me they loved the Honey Bee, so if you see this post, this one is for you! 🙂
This card came together rather quickly, thanks to the coordinating Detailed Bee Dies and the stunning Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Papers, which you can earn with a $60 purchase for FREE. My card base is Whisper White cardstock and I cut the black and gold paper to 3-3/4 x 5 size and used that as my background. Next I cut two 2″ strips of designer papers and punched them with the Triple Banner punch and layered them on top of each other and wrapped the top portion around using the So Saffron with gold metallic thread (also FREE with a $60 purchase) and adhered them on the card front.
Next, I stamped the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock and die cut it using a circle die. I die cut the beehive using the black and white striped paper and adhered it on the middle of the circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally I gold embossed a bee onto Whisper White cardstock, die cut it and adhered it on the middle of the beehive.
Isn’t this an easy sweet Honey Bee card??? I have a friend who’s birthday is coming up and she loves bees, I think this might be her card, or maybe I will make a different one. I guess, watch my blog for another card using the Honey Bee? Anyway, here is another close up shot of the card.
And now it’s time to check out what the amazingly talented ladies created for this hop using the same challenge. I can’t wait to see what you have created. Your next stop is the talented Akiko Sudano!
