Happy Saturday to you!!! I have been itching to watercolor something…LOL…so today I have a watercolored card created with the Wonderful Romance stamp set. I almost made this into a Simple Stamping card, but than I realized you kind of need some skills for watercoloring. So here I am with this beautiful card today.
I love to watercolor, so when I first saw this image in the Wonderful Romance Stamp set I just knew that I will be getting my hands messy…LOL So if you would like to recreate it, here is how I made this card.
To create this card I started out with the card base, which is Basic Black card stock 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 score and fold at 5-1/2. I cut a 2 x 5-1/2 Lemon Lime Twist panel and ran it through the Lace embossing folder and using Tear & Tape I adhered it to the left side of the card front.
Next I cut a 3-3/4 x 5 Watercolor paper panel and I stamped the floral image with Sahara Sand ink. I started watercoloring the image as shown. Used Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green for the leaves, Lovely Lipstick for the flowers and Mango Melody for the other floral sprays. I added a little Coastal Cabana and Gray Granite wash on the outskirt. Stamped a few of the written images using Gray Granite randomly and once it dried I adhered it to the card front using dimensionals.
Next I used my brand new favorite product, the Regtangle Stitched Framelits. I die cut the smallest one using Basic Black card stock and white embossed the sentiment and using Snail I adhered to the card front. Next I added one of the Butterfly Elements (love these guys so much) and tied a little knot in the Lemon Lime Twist Organdy ribbon and using a glue dot added it in the middle of the butterfly and glued them on top of the sentiment and that is it!
And here is a close up of it. As you can see watercoloring doesn’t have to be perfect!!! You just have to have fun while you are doing it…that’s the only requirement, at least for me…LOL I have so many more ideas for this set. I made another one and will share that next week, so stay tuned..
And if you would like to recreate this beauty…here is the list of the products I used:
