Hi there, today we are having a fun blog hop with a pretty sketch and this time a talented friend of mine Elaine Greenwood is joining me for the fun!
I just love this sketch and I made a cute card using the Butterfly Gala Bundle and even have a video tutorial for you today.
Isn’t this just a happy card? Did you see the cute layered butterfly? I will teach you how to make that. You will get to use your Stamparatus! Here is how I created this card.
To create this card I started out with the card base, which is Granny Apple Green card stock 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 score and fold at 5-1/2. Next I cut a 4 x 5 1/4 Daffodil Delight Gingham Paper and a 3 3/4 x 5 Whisper White card stock which I ran through the Big Shot and the Layered Leaves embossing folder and adhered the two together and finally adhered them to the card base.
Next I punched a Granny Apple Green 2″ circle and white embossed the sentiment in the lower left area of the circle. I punched a Daffodil Delight Starburst and adhered the two together.
To create the layered butterfly I white embossed one of the butterflies from the set onto vellum and punched it out. Using the Stamparatus I stamped the separated wings images, the top part with Coastal Cabana and the bottom wings using Lemon Lime Twist ink. Punched it out and using liquid glue I adhered them together and glued a sequin in the middle of that was similar to the Grapefruit Grove ribbon color.
I cut a 3 x 3/4 strip of Daffodil Delight Gingham strip and a 2-3/4 x 3/4 green leafy printed paper from the Botanical Butterfly DSP and adhered them on top of each other staggered and adhered them on the card base. I added Snail on the back of the sentiment element and glued a 10″ Grapefruit Grove Organdy ribbon in a wave format and using mini dimensionals I adhered it on top of the banner strips.
Once the sentiment label was added I glued the layered butterfly on the circle using Liquid glue. Next I punched out two little butterflies from the yellow and green gingham papers from the corner parts so the gingham pattern shows up in an angle on the butterflies. I glued them down using liquid glue and added cute sequins in the middle of them also with liquid glue and that is it!
And here is a closeup of my card, where you can see the pretty layered butterfly created with the Butterfly Gala Bundle.
