Masculine Watercolor Wings

Hello and welcome to our first Joint Blog Hop with the Happy Inkin’ Team!  I am so excited to participate in this hop and we get to do it every third Thursday of the month.  I always love blog hops as I get to see more amazing work from other talented designers.  So since it’s a joint hop, we actually are combining two challenges, or not….up to each designer, but let me show you what we were challenged with.

Happy Inkin’ has a great color challenge this week and here are the colors.

And Happy Stampers has a sketch challenge, so it worked out ever so perfect!

Here is what I came up with.

As you can see I combined the sketch with the color combo, but I turned my sketch to create this card.  Here is how I made it.

• The card base is Night of Navy card stock 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 score and fold at 5-1/2.  Next I cut a 4  x 5 1/4 panel from the Crumb Cake card stock and I ran it through the Simple Stripes Embossing folder and adhered it to my card base.
• Next I cut a 3 1/2 – 4 3/4 size panel out of Whisper White card stock and stamped the dotted images on it using both Night of Navy and Tranquil Tide inks to create a background.
• Next I die cut an oval using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies out of Whisper White card stock, stamped my sentiment on it and adhered it to my card front.
• Finally I stamped my butterfly images on the Whisper White card stock using Crumb Cake, Night of Navy and Tranquil Tide, die cut it and adhered it to the oval label.

Hope you like this card as it was fun to create!  I always have a hard time with masculine cards, and I hope it inspires you.
