Hello, hope you had a fabulous weekend! We had a gorgeous sunny weather, so I was pretty happy and this week is supposed to be warm and sunny. Ahhhhh…..spring is finally here!!! I’ll get to walk with the puppies happily. Today I have another card with the gorgeous, but retiring Stampin Up Birthday Blooms stamp set. I love this stamp set so much and so sad it’s retiring, but we’ll have new pretty flowers to create with. My card is also showcasing another retiring product, which is the Lots of Labels dies. I am really sad about that, too, so if you don’t have either of these products and have been eyeing them, you better order very soon.
I am also playing along TGIF Challenges today which is Kindness Matters. It’s all about R.A.C.K, Random Act Of Kindness. So I would love to gift this card to someone. Comment on my post and let me know if you would like to receive this card in the mail from me and I will ship it to you without anything written inside, so you can give it to someone from yourself. How fun is that! I will leave the commenting open till Friday, April 27th and announce my winner on the 28th. So if you like this card, just leave me a comment….LOL I might even do more of these kind of giveaways….
Isn’t this just so pretty? Now you know why I will miss playing with this flower so much. Anyway, here are the steps to create this card if you choose to do so.
- The card base is Whisper White card stock 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 score and fold at 5-1/2. Than I cut another 3 3/4 x 5 panel from Whisper White card stock again and I cut a window out of it using Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and added the patterned paper behind the window, which is the now retired Springtime Foils paper and I adhered that whole panel on my card base.
- Next I white embossed the flower image onto water color paper and using the different inks in the supply list I painted it, than cut it out and using stampin dimensionals I adhered it to my card front. One thing to note here, I didn’t want to use the traditional greens for the leaves, so I used Bermuda Bay and Tranquil tide and I think it turned out quite pretty. So you don’t always have to use green for leaves….
- I cut a 1″ strip of paper from Bermuda Bay card stock and white embossed the “for You” sentiment on it and used the triple banner punch to create the banner look. Than I tied the linen thread around it and adhered it to the card.
- At last, I punch a couple of leaves using the leaf punch and vellum paper and added it to my flower.
Here is a close up look of the flower.
And again, if you want to recreate this card, here is the supply list for it.
If you are looking to buy any of these products in Canada, I would love to be your Stampin Up demonstrator. As I mentioned above some of these products are retiring, so get them while you can.
And everyone who shops through my Canadian Stampin Up Store will get a catalog in June so you will get to drool over the catalog and make a new list, like all of us do…LOL. When you do your shopping, make sure you use the April Hostess CODE!
Well, that is it for today! Let me know if you have any questions and have fun shopping!
